Twitter's Vine app has been available for several weeks now, and plenty of brands are using it as a way to communicate and engage with their customers. If you're new to Vine, here are 3 great types of Vine video clips you can easily create to promote your business.
1. Make A Stop Motion Animation
The standard frame rate for most smartphone cameras is approximately 30 frames per second, which gives you ample time to construct some pretty awesome stop-motion animations on Vine within its six-second video length limit. This type of video can be extremely powerful and the technique has been adored by people since the dawn of cinema, through to children's television and beyond.
2. Make an Infinitely Looping Video
All videos in Vine loop infinitely when played, so use this to your advantage to create a video that rolls seamlessly. Instead of a video that ends abruptly (e.g. a cat jumping off a table onto the floor), try to find a way to smoothly transition the end of your video so that it naturally flows back to the beginning of the looped video. What you'll end up with is a mesmerising six-second advert for your brand that viewers will want to watch over and over again. In this video, I speak one sentence with the same word at the beginning and end to achieve this effect.
3. Make A Sound-Only Video
Most of the videos on Vine rely on a visuals to relay their message, so why not break the mould with a sound-only recording? This tactic can be very effective, as it builds anticipation and forces your audience to engage with your video and use their imaginations to figure out what is happening. In the example above, I use a drum roll sound to build anticipation, before the 'big reveal' accompanied by a cheesy fanfare.
